• 1 Suit (Easy): All 104 cards are treated as Spades. Since every card belongs to the same suit, you can move any descending sequence you build. This is the ideal mode for beginners learning the basic rules.

• 2 Suits (Medium): The game uses Spades and Hearts. You must manage two different suits, meaning you can only move sequences if they are of the same suit, adding a layer of spatial and strategic challenge.

• 4 Suits (Hard): All four suits (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs) are active. This is the traditional version of Spider Solitaire, requiring advanced planning and careful management of mixed-suit columns to avoid blocking your moves.

Strategies to Win Spider Solitaire

While the random distribution of cards introduces an element of luck, consistent play relies on solid tactical decisions:

• Prioritize Empty Columns: An empty tableau column is incredibly valuable. It allows you to temporarily park cards, break up mixed-suit sequences, and reorganize columns to create single-suit runs.

• Expose Facedown Cards: Focus on clearing shorter columns early in the game to uncover hidden cards and open up vacant spaces.

• Build in Same-Suit Runs Whenever Possible: While you can place a card on a different suit to make a temporary move, try to group cards of the same suit. Doing so keeps your sequences mobile and prevents columns from becoming locked.
